What Are Rissóis?

Rissóis are a Portuguese classic that deserve more attention.

They’re breaded pastries with savoury fillings—crispy, golden, and traditionally prepared in a variety of flavours, including shrimp and sausage. They are made to be enjoyed as a quick bite or shared appetizer.

How It Started

I grew up with rissóis at family gatherings, where they never lasted long. Once they hit the table, they were gone within minutes.

The recipe comes from my family, passed down and refined over time. My mom made it her own, and to this day, I haven’t had anything that compares.

The idea for this business started years ago when my parents planned to turn it into something bigger. Even after those plans fell through, the idea stayed with me, and I just knew more people needed to try these.

After moving from a corporate job into hospitality, everything clicked. I realized how much I loved working with food and people, and that this was something worth building.

To introduce more people to rissóis and share a piece of Portuguese food culture through something simple, comforting, and genuinely good.
